FAQs ( Frequently Asked Questions )

I like wine but I’m no expert. Are these tours suitable for me?

Yes! All the more reason for going a wine tour, to find out more! The only requirement is that you enjoy drinking wine. These tours are very relaxed, unstuffy and unintimidating. Juliet is more than happy to answer all those wine questions that you have been burning to ask.

One of our party is vegeterian. Will the restaurants serve vegetarian food?

French restaurants are not normally geared up for vegetarians but can provide good vegetarian dishes with a bit of notice. When booking your tour, you will be asked if you have any dietary requirements so we can let restaurants know in advance.

I want to do some wine tasting but can’t see exactly what I want on the itineraries

No problem. We can create a tour just for you.

I am a real wine enthusiast but my husband is less keen. Can your tours accommodate both of us?

Our weekend and six day tours all include visits to historic or cultural sites and to local markets as well as wine visits. Some of our visits are to historic chateaux so are interesting to look round in their own right. Also, we can design a wine tour to suit both of you.

When is the best time of year to go on a wine tour?

Wine tours are available all year round and with 300 days of sunshine a year there is no bad time to come to the Languedoc. Harvest time is mid August to early October and it is great fun seeing the grapes being picked. Springtime is beautiful and not too hot. For more details see
when to visit the Languedoc

Will I be able to buy the wines back home?

Some of them, yes. For details of importers and outlets in the USA and UK see
links However our tours also include visits to producers that we think are stars of the future but which are not yet widely exported. So you are discovering them first!

Are we obliged to buy wines at each visit? Baggage allowances means that we can’t take much wine home.

Although producers are always happy to sell their wine there is no obligation to buy on our tours. Producers know that visitors have often traveled by plane so it is not practical to take wine home.
